
Communications Intern
San Antonio, TX
Position Description: The Communications Intern is a talented writer and editor who can deliver well-written copy and creative graphic design projects that strengthen and amplify the Greater Chamber’s brand within the business community and with other stakeholders across the San Antonio region.
Responsibilities:
- Write and edit articles for the chamber’s weekly advertorial in the Express-News.
- Design artwork for the Express-News advertorial that conforms to the chamber’s template.
- Write and edit articles for the monthly newsletter, Chamber Today.
- Create graphic design projects (i.e. invitations, posters, programs, flyers, slides) in Canva for various events and initiatives.
- Create eblasts in iContact to generate attention for various events and initiatives targeted to chamber members.
- Help create content, including written copy, graphics and videos, for the chamber’s various social media channels.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Education Requirements:
Minimum:
- High School Graduate
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising or a Related Field
Skill & Abilities:
- Must be a strong writer and editor with knowledge of AP Style
- Must have excellent attention to detail
- Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro) and Canva
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must have exceptional time management and personal relationship skills
- Teamwork and collaboration are a must
- Strong customer service skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to walk, stand and work for extended hours
- Must have reliable transportation
